Mac System Software 1.0 1981-05 build is shown with a program called SketchPad open, with a simple demonstration of rounded rectangles. The “RoundRects” demo was created at the persuasion of Steve Jobs, after Bill Atkinson claimed such shapes would be unnecessary and hard to implement.[1] Atkinson took many pictures of each milestone the Macintosh software made; there are many builds similar to this one that he has photographed between 1980 and 1982, including additional SketchPad demos from May 1981.[2]
Although the entry is dated to 1981-05, the build depicted in the screenshot must be from later based on the UI.
