System 7.5, codename "Capone", is a version of System 7, which was released on 12 September 1994. This version includes bug fixes from previous versions as well as new features that were previously available on third-party extensions. This version was shipped on the initial batch of PowerBook 550c units.
The codename references Chicago gangster Al Capone, as the developers aimed "to strike fear into the heart of [Microsoft's] Chicago", in development at the same time.[1]
