macOS Sierra build 16F5049f is an internal development build of macOS Sierra 10.12.5. The build was originally discovered on a refurbished MacBook Pro purchased by a Reddit user on 10 October 2019.[1] The contents of the hard disk containing the build itself was later leaked onto a Discord guild on 30 October 2023, and subsequently uploaded onto the Internet Archive the same day.[2] The build notably contains development tools used for testing hardware functionality on newly-manufactured and refurbished Mac computers (including extended validation (EV) units).
