macOS Monterey build 21A5294g is the official Beta 4 and Public Beta 3 release of macOS Monterey, which was released to Apple developers on 27 July 2021,[1] then to the public the next day on 28 July.[2][3]

Features and Changes[edit | edit source]

Universal Control[edit | edit source]

  • Now it will be activated by default when finishing installation.

System Preferences[edit | edit source]

  • In the display options, advanced. . . has been replaced with "Add Display", which removed the 1st option that enables Universal Control and instead a new Mirror or extend to option will be implemented instead, with clicking or tapping the other remaining device you have to display.
  • Focus Preferences from the Do Not Disturb preferences have been moved from the System Preferences > Notifications with being renamed to "Notifications & Focus".

Safari[edit | edit source]

  • Live text for Safari is now out in Intel system devices.
  • Now the old style tabs are divided from the top of the toolbar, instead from the bottom of the toolbar.
  • The tab view preferences were moved to the Safari Preferences, with the new compact view and seperated view buttons.

Shortcuts[edit | edit source]

  • Support for double desktop devices has been implemented.
  • The ability to "Return to Home Screen".

Notifications[edit | edit source]

  • A new notification will pop up, notifying you when you upgraded from Beta 3 to Beta 4.

Other[edit | edit source]

  • Siri's icon has been updated, like previous builds, but wasn't that much noticed before.

Fixes[edit | edit source]

  • 14+ bug fixes have been fixed, though 18+ are still known.
