There is an indirect reference to assembly in the MS-DOS 6.2 User's Guide.
On page 5 there is an example of the command output DIR, which contains the line: COMMAND COM 53014 09-18-92 6:00a
The file size and date do not match any known version of MS-DOS. This is probably a beta version from September 1992, because MS-DOS does not change the date and time stamps of files when installing and unpacking the distribution, and they correspond to the stamps from the distribution. An indirect reference was found by the user Battler from BetaArchive, which he reported on the forum.
