iPhone OS 1.1.3 build 4A93 is the official RTM build of iPhone OS 1.1.3, which was released to the public on 15 January 2008.[1] Prior to that, it was leaked by GearLive.com on 28 December 2007.[2]
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
SMS Messaging[edit | edit source]
- Support for group SMS messaging has been added.
- SMS storage capacity has been increased from 1,000 to 75,000 messages.
- Incoming SMS messages now prompts the user to "Close" or "Reply" (formerly "Ignore" or "Reply"). Pressing either option will mark the message as "seen".
Music and iTunes[edit | edit source]
- Support for song lyrics has been added to the iPod app.
- iTunes gift cards can be redeemed in the iTunes Store.
- Movies downloaded through iTunes now have chapter support.
- The ability to listen to music through a Bluetooth headset by going to Voicemail and choosing "Bluetooth" as the audio source no longer works (still works as long as phone is not locked or voicemail screen is active).
System[edit | edit source]
- Icons on the home screen can be rearranged and placed onto multiple home screens (up to eight).
- On the iPod touch, the home screen Dock has been changed to match the iPhone.
- Multi-touch keyboard (e.g. simultaneously pressing ⇧ Shift+A).
- Applications on the phone no longer run as root; they run as the user "mobile" instead.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- Web Clips have been added, which can be used to create shortcuts to websites on the home screen.
- Several new features has been added to the Maps app, such as pins, Satellite view, and traffic information.
- Defaults to IMAP for new Gmail accounts (formerly defaulted to POP3).
- Recent calls contact details now show most recent call times.
- Labels for contact data can now be deleted.
- The clock timer now remembers the last used options (bug fix).
