iOS 17.0 build 21A5303d is the official Beta 5 and Public Beta 3 release of iOS 17, which was released to Apple developers on 8 August 2023, then to public beta testers on the next day.[1][2]
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
- The Live Voicemail message prompt has been updated to avoid confusion from users.[3]
- The AirDrop feature which initiates transfers by holding two devices near each other now has a new sound effect.
- The ability to track an Apple TV remote has been added to the Remote toggle in Control Center. This functionality would be enabled in a remote firmware update released on 12 September 2023.[4]
- Download buttons in the App Store are no longer in all caps.
- A splash screen for Safari's locked private browsing has been added.
- The State of Mind section of the Health app received additional UI adjustments.
- New Shortcut icons for "Filter Articles, "Open URL", and "Search Web" in Safari have been added.
- New icons for Voice Control and Assistive Access have been added to the Accessibility section in the Settings app.
- The flashlight toggle in Control Center received an updated glyph icon.
