iOS 17.0 build 21A5291h is the official Beta 4 release of iOS 17, which was released to Apple developers on 25 July 2023.[1]

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • The AirDrop feature which initiates transfers by holding two devices near each other can now be disabled.[2]
  • A new option has been added to StandBy mode which hides the preview of notifications until it is tapped on.
  • The app picker in the Messages app has been updated with redesigned icons. As a result of this, the “Photos” button no longer displays the user's most recent photo.
  • The "My Photo Stream" feature in the Photos app has been removed due to the service's discontinuation.[3]
  • Information regarding average temperatures and precipitation has been added to the Weather app.
  • Animations for the State of Mind section of the Health app have been improved.
  • The "Home Screen & App Library" section in the Settings app received a new icon.
  • The Lock Screen gallery now includes a dedicated option for setting Live Photos.
  • On the Lock Screen, the thinnest font option for the clock has been made slightly thicker.
  • The Apple TV Remote glyph in Control Center has been updated slightly.
  • The AirPlay devices menu will now animate upon opening.
