iOS 14.5 build 18E5140j is the official Beta 1 release of iOS 14.5, which was released to Apple developers on 1 February 2021.[1]

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • It is now possible to disable 3rd party app tracking.
  • The "Unlock with Apple Watch" feature has been added.
  • The ability to set a default music streaming service has been added.
  • The Podcasts app received a major overhaul, featuring a similar UI to the Music app.
  • Accidents, hazards, and speed checks along a route can now be reported in the Maps app.
  • Lists can now be sorted in the Reminders app.
  • Support for AirPlay 2 has been added to Apple Fitness+.
  • Support for dual 5G SIM cards has been added to the iPhone 12 series.
  • Support for Xbox Series X and PlayStation DualSense controllers has been added.
  • The Software Update page in the Settings app has been redesigned slightly.
  • App Library categorization has been adjusted.
