iOS 13.1 build 17A5821e is the official Beta 1 release of iOS 13.1, which was released to Apple developers on 27 August 2019, then to public beta testers on the next day.[1][2]

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • The Automations feature in the Shortcuts app has been re-added.[3]
  • The ability to share ETA has been added to the Maps app.
  • New HomeKit device icons have been added to the Home app.
  • Added an option for reading goals in the Books app to include time spent reading PDFs.
  • The dark Dynamic Wallpapers, previously exclusive to iPhone X and later, are now available for all devices.
  • The volume indicator will now display an icon based on which audio device is being used.
  • Apps installed via TestFlight are now indicated with a bright yellow dot next to its name.
  • Support for HEVC video encoding with alpha channels has been added.
