New features and changes[edit source]
- Updates the Symbian OS kernel to version 9. This change however breaks compatibility with existing applications made for previous versions of Series 60.
- Introduced signature enforcement in application installations, in which all applications must be signed by a valid certificate, but such restriction can be bypassed by using a software patch, allowing installation of applications that are unsigned or has an expired certificate.
- Added support for landscape display and automatic display rotation.
- Flash Lite 1.1 is added.
