Debian 3.1

Debian 3.1 is a version of Debian released on 6 June 2005 under the codename "Sarge" after being in development for nearly three years. It introduced debian-installer, a replacement for boot-floppies with integrated hardware auto detection and guided partitioning. OpenOffice, Mozilla Firefox, KDE 3.x, and GNOME 2.x, and an unofficial AMD64 port were introduced in this version.
