Android 2.0 build ESD20 is the official R1 release of Android 2.0, which was released on 26 October 2009.

Email[edit | edit source]

  • Multiple Google accounts can now be added to a device.
  • Exchange account support has been added.
  • A combined inbox feature to view emails from all added email inboxes has been introduced.

Messaging[edit | edit source]

  • The ability to search from all SMS and MMS messages has been added.
  • A feature to instantly delete the oldest message in a conversation when a user-defined limit is reached has been added.

Camera[edit | edit source]

These new hardware-dependant features are now supported in the built-in camera app, assuming the device supports them.

  • The keyboard layout has been improved for easier typing.
  • A new dictionary feature, which learns from what user types and automatically suggests words and contacts based on that, has been added.

  • A brand-new browser UI has been introduced.
  • HTML5 support has been added.
  • Double-tab zoom has been added.

Calendar[edit | edit source]

  • New agend-view provides infinite scrolling within the application.
  • New integration with contacts allows you to invite contacts to events and see invite statuses.

General[edit | edit source]

  • The API level has been updated to 5.

Synchronization[edit | edit source]

  • Data synchronization inside of third-party apps has been introduced using sync adapters.
  • The Quick Contact framework has been introduced, allowing for the user to instantly message or find information about a contact by clicking on their image in a support app.

Graphics[edit | edit source]

The graphics architecture has been revamped, introducing better support for graphics acceleration.

Bluetooth[edit | edit source]

  • Bluetooth has been updated to version 2.1.
  • New Bluetooth profiles have been added: Object Push Profile and Phone Book Access Profile.
