Android 12, 2021-04-13 build (build number is unknown) is a build of Android 12, built after Developer Preview 3[1] and leaked to XDA-Developers. It was first detailed by XDA-Developers on 13 April 2021.[2]

Scrolling screenshots[edit | edit source]

  • First enabled in this build.
  • Adds the Magnifier view.

App Pair[edit | edit source]

  • The position of each app can be swapped in a pair by double tapping the center.

Launcher[edit | edit source]

  • A search bar has been added to the widget list.
  • The home screen can show 2 pages at once on tablets.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The Wi-Fi setting has been renamed to "Internet".
  • An "extend compatibility" option changes the hotspot frequency to 2.4GHz.
  • The power button can be used to start Google Assistant when held down.

Splash screens[edit | edit source]

  • Every app has a splash screen.
  • It shows the app’s icon with a background matching the current system day/night theme.

Animations[edit | edit source]

  • A new charging animation was added.
  • A new animation when opening the app drawer was added.
  • The ripple effect has been tweaked.

Privacy related changes[edit | edit source]

  • The location dialog has a fine and coarse location toggle.
  • A toast message is shown when an app pastes data from the clipboard.
  • An app's access to the real-time, conversations, default and silent notification categories can be toggled.

Other changes[edit | edit source]

  • New emoji design.
  • The Conversation widget picker has been tweaked.
  • The "Reduce Brightness" setting was renamed to "Extra dim".
  • The volume panel has a new UI.
  • The thick brightness slider has been tweaked.
  • A quick setting toggle for Device Controls, Cards & Passes was added.
