Android 1.5 r1 is a build of Android 1.x that was released on 27 April 2009. This build was based on Linux kernel 2.6.27 and was the first version to use a dessert as a codename, namely "Cupcake". This update includes several improvements and UI changes.

Browser[edit | edit source]
- It is now possible to copy or paste text.
Contacts[edit | edit source]
- User pictures are now shown in the "Favorite" section of Contacts.
- Specific date/time stamp shown for events in the call log, and one-touch access to a contact card from call log event.
Stocks[edit | edit source]
- Stocks received a new boot animation.
Bluetooth[edit | edit source]
- Bluetooth can now auto-pair and stereo A2DP and AVRCP profiles.
Media[edit | edit source]
- MPEG-4 and 3GP videos can now be played or recorded.
Widgets[edit | edit source]
- Widgets has been added.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- Third-party keyboards (additionally including text prediction and user dictionary) has been added.
- It is now possible to auto-rotate the screen.
- Animated screen transitions are added.
