Windows 95 build 708 is a Simplified Chinese beta build of Windows 95. Even though it is identified as 4.00.720 at the MS-DOS Prompt, it is identified as 4.00.708 in System Properties. This build notably has a boot screen similar to build 342, but with "Beta - Release" beneath "Windows 95" instead of "Final Beta Release".

The Release Notes and Microsoft WinNews were removed. The Release Notes would return in OSR2 build 1009.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
The "(UTC +01:00) Berlin, Stockholm, Prague, Vienna" time zone is missing and will also leave a blank spot on the world map in the Date & Time Properties.
