Windows 11 build 25926.1000 is the fourth Insider Preview build of Gallium, the 24H1 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel on 9 August 2023.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Shell[edit | edit source]

  • The notification bell icon on the taskbar, initially implemented in build 23511, has been ported to this build.
  • The smoother fly-in transition effect when switching between virtual desktops by pressing the key combination ⊞ Win+Ctrl+ or , initially implemented in build 23511, has been ported to this build.
  • When doing multitasking activities such as often switching between windows or using Snap Assist, the system will show a notification toast to suggest the screen casting feature.
  • If the optional Wireless Display feature is not installed, an installation reminder will show under the Cast flyout in Quick Settings.

Settings[edit | edit source]

A new System Components has been added under the System page for managing built-in system apps. This page is disabled by default, but can be activated by enabling the 44702824 velocity staging key.

Bugfixes[edit | edit source]

Fixed an issue that was causing devices with mobile broadband connectivity to not be able to connect to a wireless network due to an issue in which the APN configuration may get lost after upgrading to build 25921.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

  • Adjusting screen brightness may not work on some laptops.
  • The Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray on the taskbar may sometimes disappear.
  • The icons on the desktop may appear blank in certain cases. Refreshing the desktop would resolve this issue.
  • explorer.exe may throw an Unknown Hard Error error and get stuck in a crash loop when logging in to Safe mode, due to the 0xc0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) exception with faulting module HolographicExtensions.dll.
