Windows 3.0A is a Japanese version of Windows 3.0, which was released for the Fujitsu FM TOWNS, NEC PC-98xx series, Seiko Epson PC series (PC-98 clone) and Toshiba J3100 series computers in 1991. A screenshot of the about dialog was shown on WinHistory.de.[1] Japanese website Nanshiki.co.jp also shared screenshots of the J3100 variant of this build running in DOSVAXJ3 (a derivative of DOSBox) on 6 August 2020.[2] On 25 September 2020, the PC-98 variant of this build was put up on Yahoo! Auctions;[3] the bidding for this item ended four days later, on 29 September 2020.
Chinese website BetaWorld shared screenshots of multiple variants of this build. They first shared some screenshots of the Fujitsu FM TOWNS variant on 11 February 2021. A year later, they shared some screenshots of the Epson variant on 4 February 2022, with screenshots of the PC-98 variant (along with Windows 3.0A-H) being uploaded within May that year.[4]
A picture of a disc containing this build for DOS/V compatible computers (alongside Traditional Chinese Windows 3.0, Korean Windows 3.01, SDKs and DDKs, and a Korean DOS 5.0 boot floppy image) was first provided by ReflectiaX on 18 December 2020. On 21 April 2021, he shared the contents of the disc, as a compressed folder dump.
