Windows 2000 build 1627 is a pre-beta build of Windows 2000, which was mentioned on the Fate 355 warez CD list and was shared on BetaArchive on 22 March 2019.[1] This build is one of the earliest available Windows NT builds to implement a timebomb.

Timebomb[edit | edit source]

If the timebomb is triggered, the user is no longer able to boot the system. When installing timebombed builds with a date set beyond the expiry date, setup will notify the user to set date and time.

In addition, when booting into setup, a notification is displayed that a BETA version of the Windows NT operating system is being installed.

Quirks[edit | edit source]

Installation[edit | edit source]

The original release had the files from MARK8.VC_ to MFC40.DL_ missing. To install this build, copy these files from the i386 directory of build 1631's installation media onto the installation media of this build.
