Windows 11 build 26120.3073 is a build of Windows 11 2024 Update. It was released to the Windows Insiders in the Beta and Dev Channels on 31 January 2025 as the KB5037898 enablement update to build 26100.3073 (KB5050090).
This build is the first to switch the Beta Channel codebase from Windows 11 2023 Update to Windows 11 2024 Update by gradually backporting new features from it, and it was distributed as a checkpoint cumulative update that contains incremental changes since build 26100.1742.

Windows Search[edit | edit source]
The latent semantic indexing (LSI) for Windows Search, initially implemented in build 26120.2992 for files saved locally in indexed locations on the device only, has been extended to image files saved in the cloud. It's gradually rolled out to ARM64 devices with Snapdragon X series processors, but can be activated manually by enabling the 47942714
velocity staging key.
Taskbar[edit | edit source]
- The "Emoji and more" system tray button has been updated with 3 additional icons. These icons are disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the

- Fixed an issue that was causing the

- Fixed an issue that was causing Remote Desktop to show significant display and/or rendering issues when connecting to other computers.
- Fixed an issue that was causing Remote Desktop to get errors or fail to sign when connecting to Windows 11 workstations while device redirection is enforced.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the code 10 error message "This device cannot start" when connecting to certain external audio management devices.
- Fixed an issue where when using GDI+ to shrink an image, the colors may be wrong afterwards.
- Fixed an issue that was causing shutdown to be noticeably slower on certain devices when a controller was connected.
- Fixed an issue where the description for virtual NICs under the Network Connections Control Panel applet (

) would show garbled characters. - Fixed an issue that was causing the display of some games to appear oversaturated when Auto HDR is on.

- Fixed an issue that was causing the taskbar preview windows to not display sometimes when hovering over open apps on the taskbar.
- Fixed an underlying issue that was causing the Windows Security pop up when signing into certain Wi-Fi networks to not be interactable.
- This may have also impacted interacting with this pop up for certain other options in the Settings app.

- Addressed an issue where File Explorer might hang when browsing a folder with lots of media in it.
- Fixed an issue where when opening a File Explorer window and then minimizing it in, it might not be rendered correctly when restoring it.

Fixed an issue that was causing the Settings app to crash when interacting with the Bluetooth & devices page sometimes.
Windows Search (LSI)[edit | edit source]
Fixed the issue where in some rare cases, searching on Outlook while offline might result in some results not being found.
Accessibility[edit | edit source]
Fixed an issue where live captions might show an icon on the taskbar, but the window wouldn't display on the screen, after disconnecting a second monitor.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
Performing a system reset under System → Recovery in the Settings app may cause the KB5037898 enablement update to be uninstalled unexpectedly, consequently reverting major build number to 26100.
File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- When opening and then minimizing a File Explorer window, the window may not render correctly when restoring it.
- Users may experience serious lag when closing File Explorer using the X button, or clicking on other title bar buttons.
Task Manager[edit | edit source]
Navigating to the the Performance section may unexpectedly cause high DCOM CPU usage in certain cases.
Recall[edit | edit source]
- Clicking links within Recall to submit feedback may experience a delay in loading the Feedback Hub app.
- The message "Make sure Recall is saving snapshots" may unexpectedly show while the Settings page for Recall shows saving snapshots is enabled.
- Recall may not currently work with some accessibility applications.
Windows Search[edit | edit source]
The following issues are applicable if latent semantic indexing (LSI) for Windows Search is enabled:
- The AI sparkle and underline animation may not present in the File Explorer and taskbar's search box.
- The search box on the taskbar may not have the same underline and sparkles icon UI that the File Explorer search box has.
- LSI for Windows Search may not be available in certain cases. Restarting Windows may resolve this issue.
- File explorer search may be unresponsive in certain cases. Restarting Windows may resolve this issue.
- The tip about the new search improvements may appear whenever the focus is set to File Explorer's search box, rather than only once.
Settings[edit | edit source]
- The Home page crash may crash in certain cases.
- The colors in the new battery icon may not display correctly when the color mode under Personalization → Colors is set to certain options with Custom.
Accessibility[edit | edit source]
- Setting up voice access may fail with a download error.
- Live captions may crash on launch for the first time.
- Switching languages may crash live captions if audio is playing or the microphone is enabled.
