Windows 11 build 22621.457 is an update of build 22621.1. It can be obtained by installing the KB5016695 cumulative update, which was released to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on 23 August 2022.

The ability to show 7-day history of resource access for various App permissions under their respective subpages in the Privacy & security page, which was initially introduced in build 25136, has been added.

  • The ability of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint has been enhanced to identify and intercept ransomware and advanced attacks.
  • Windows will now compress a file regardless of its size if the SMB compression is configured.
  • The storage replication that occurs over low bandwidth or congested WAN has been improved.
  • The maximum length limit of the URL has been increased to 8,192 characters.

  • Fixed an issue that prevents the Storage Migration Service (SMS) from completing the inventory on servers that have many shares with error event 2509 in Microsoft-Windows-StorageMigrationService/Admin channel.
  • Fixed an issue that causes the Sync across the devices option under Settings > System > Clipboard to not remain enabled.
