SUSE Linux 10.0

SUSE Linux 10.0 is a version of openSUSE, released on 6 October 2005. It was codenamed "Prague". It is the first release to be open-source. It shipped with Linux kernel 2.6.13, GNOME 2.12.0.1 and KDE 3.4.2.

Beta 1[edit | edit source]

There also exists a Beta 1 version released two months before the official release on 8 August 2005. It contains a Beta 1 version of GNOME 2.12. The boot screen is similar, except the background has more contrast, has four different icons, and in the bottom-left corner, it has the "Press F2 for more information" title instead of "Press Esc for more information" from the official release. In verbose mode, the scheme is identical to what we saw in SUSE Linux 9.3.
