Windows Vista build 5231 is a pre-beta 2 build of Windows Vista. It is almost the same as build 5231.2 but it's only available in x86. It is an earlier compile and it introduced Windows Media Player 11, and Internet Explorer was revamped, as well as Network Connections, including a new tray icon for the network. A new volume control app is added, allowing the volume of each app to be set independently. An early version of Reliability Monitor is added.
