Windows 3.1 build 034e is part of the beta 1 phase of Windows 3.1, though it doesn't appear to be the final Beta 1 release (see build 034f for more information).

Setup has a new interface, letting you choose from 'Quick install' (Defaults) or 'Full install' (Custom). The Windows error debugger (Dr. Watson) is included and starts automatically with Windows. Object Packager has a unique icon and name in this build. There is a bug with the Setup Applications part of the setup where it will detect non-existent programs and attempt to find them.

This build is currently the earliest leaked build of Windows 3.1 to have built-in Video7 drivers supporting resolutions higher than 640x480 in 8-bit color mode.

Fixes[edit]

The original warez leak of this build is missing disk 2. Using files from build 026 and Windows 3.0 RTM, it can be installed. A fixed disk 2 can be found here.
