'''InkBall''' is a puzzle game that was first introduced with [[Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005]] and was later included in [[Windows Vista]]. It was also included in [[Windows Longhorn build 3713]]. It was discontinued with the release of [[Windows 7]]. The goal of the game is to draw various lines on the screen to direct the balls into holes of their corresponding colors to win each round and score points.

It can be played with either an ordinary computer mouse or a stylus. The ability to play with the former was introduced in [[Windows Vista]] and a new icon was introduced to align with the [[Windows Aero]] UI. In Tablet PC Edition, the player is able to use the mouse, but it will disappear in the game window. Pressing the Alt key will show the mouse cursor.
== Purge <s>all</s> non-Windows related content ==
This is my version of [https://betawiki.net/wiki/BetaWiki:Community_portal/Archive_6#Purge_all_non-Windows_related_content a similar proposal] that got canceled. Basically, non-Windows stuff on the wiki gets literally no activity besides one or two users. But, while the canceled proposal focused on all non-Windows content, I wanted to only focus on free-and-open source OSes (such as Linux, BSD, and Haiku), Android, non-preinstalled web browsers (such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Netscape) and other less important OSes. For free-and-open source OSes and Android, they have been moved to [https://distrowiki.miraheze.org/ a dedicated wiki that focused on these OSes.] For non-preinstalled web browsers, there are already Wikipedia pages for these browsers. I hope this should make BetaWiki a much cleaner site and live up to its name. [[User:NaraInsider1694|NaraInsider1694]] ([[User talk:NaraInsider1694|talk]]) 05:36, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
#I think this is a good change for BetaWiki. I think that removing non-preinstalled web browsers, free and open-source operating systems and Android will at least clean up the wiki a little bit. Wikipedia already has good detailed pages for the non-preinstalled web browsers (like Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.) and a lot of the free and open-source OS content has already been migrated to the DistroWiki. # I am fine with the completely free and open source OS betas being moved to DistroWiki, but where do non-Windows proprietary systems go under this proposal? Obviously notable systems such as MS-DOS and MacOS would have nowhere to go if we followed through with this change, in addition to various smaller but still influential proprietary systems, which still deserve coverage in my mind. My opinion is that the site is called BetaWiki, not WindowsBetaWiki, and its function should reflect that. # I find the reason of "they get one or two users" completely BS. Not all pages need to be edited every day or week. Just because this wiki is more focused on windows does not mean that every single page not related to windows should be nuked. To quote "This is the complete opposite of BetaWiki's goal, which is to document popular and widely used OSes". If this has been BetaWiki's goal, then the Linux pages would've been nuked a long time ago. Also, the entire thing reads like an advertisement for your wiki to me. Also, BetaWiki's tagline is "An open encyclopedia of software history", and Linux classifies under software, so why should it be deleted? This is not necessary for BetaWiki and would not affect it in any positive way. Windows should not be the focus of this wiki, and your reasoning reminds me of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Arguments_to_avoid_in_deletion_discussions#I_don't_like_it Wikipedia:IDONTLIKEIT]. #:One thing I did not mention is that some of these pages haven't been updated in a year or two. They're also an easy target for trolls and spammers since most people here (even admins) are not going to care about these pages. About the my wiki thing, it's NOT my wiki, it's someone else's wiki which existed because of an earlier proposal which focused on the exact same thing. Unfortunately, you can't just change the focus of this wiki because it has been known as a Windows-centric wiki since its founding in 2013 and you'll need more people interested in non-Windows OSes in order to be able to do so. Most of the miscellaneous pages here are also low-quality, unlike the Windows pages. To sum up, Linux and other miscellaneous OSes are basically irrelevant in the BetaWiki community and you should rethink about it. [[User:NaraInsider1694|NaraInsider1694]] ([[User talk:NaraInsider1694|talk]]) 04:59, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
#::So what? This is why I said "Not all pages need to be edited every day or week.". As I said, not all pages need to be edited every day or week. There are people who are interested in the Linux pages (beside me), and these pages have existed for YEARS, and I have never seen any of them get vandalized. And the wiki has not been Windows-centric. Sure, thats what most of the community is dedicated to, but looking back at the first [https://betawiki.net/index.php?title=Main_Page&oldid=2 edit to the main page] (beside the mediawiki software) it has had Linux listed. Linux has been a portion of the wiki for almost a decade now (the page on the kernel itself was created in September 2014) so why should we purge all the content related to it now? It's a dumb proposal, and wouldn't help BetaWiki in any way, as an encyclopedia dedicated to software history. [[User:Sporb|Sporb]] ([[User talk:Sporb|talk]]) 00:15, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
== Regarding the recent announcement of version 22H2 being the last release of Windows 10... ==

Just today, I read that Microsoft will no longer release any future feature updates for Windows 10 as the operating system is scheduled for end-of-life on 14 October 2025 for the following editions of the operating system:

* Home
* Pro
* Pro Education
* Pro for Workstations
* Education
* Enterprise
* Enterprise multi-session

This means that Windows 10 version 22H2 which was released in October 2022 will be the last version of Windows 10.

Initially, I thought that Microsoft would release one more feature update for Windows 10 in late 2023 but nope, that is not happening. The EOL dates for Windows 10 version 22H2 which was originally 14 May 2024 for consumer editions and 13 May 2025 for enterprise editions have been updated to 14 October 2025 for the above applicable editions of Windows 10. Because of this, this is pretty much the perfect time for anyone still running outdated versions of Windows 10 (like 21H2, 21H1, 20H2, 2004 etc.) or old versions of Windows (like Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1) to update directly to version 22H2 as there will be no more feature updates for Windows 10.

However, existing LTSC, Server and IoT Enterprise versions of Windows 10 will still be supported until their respective end-of-life dates. The curtains are starting to draw on Windows 10. I am still wondering if they will offer ESU updates for Windows 10 like they did with Windows 7 given its large market share data and the fact that many PCs running Windows 10 do not meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11.

Hopefully anyone who is still using Windows 10 will be fine as the EOL date is still two years away from now. In fact, my old Lenovo laptop which I have had since at least June or July of 2018 (The laptop itself was manufactured around May 2015) runs Windows 10 while my newer Alienware desktop PC runs Windows 11 which I have had since August 2022. My laptop does not meet the system requirements for Windows 11 and to me it is not really that big of a deal since I use my desktop PC for general things now and I am not using my laptop that much anyways since it is starting to run very slow. Although, I still use it occasionally, it has a lot of data on it that I would like to keep so, I probably may need to back up the stuff before it fails.

What are your thoughts and reactions to this announcement? I am just curious.
* New features and changes: Light bulb
* Bugs and quirks: Exclamation mark
* Patches (reparing file, etc.): Wrench
* Trivia: Question mark
* Versions, documents and information (requirements, etc.): Information mark
* Build lists:
** Windows 1.0 - 3.0: List icon
** Post-Windows 3.0: Windows logo
*** Windows 3.1 to 98, 2000, ME: Windows 9x logo
*** Windows XP - 7: Windows 7 logo
*** Windows 8 - 10 (+its semesters): Windows 8 logo
*** Windows 11 (+its semesters): Windows 11 logo
** MacOS: Apple logo
** OS/2 and MS-DOS: Old computer icon
== Purge <s>all</s> non-Windows related content ==
# I find the reason of "they get one or two users" completely BS. Not all pages need to be edited every day or week. == Regarding the recent announcement of version 22H2 being the last release of Windows 10... ==

Just today, I read that Microsoft will no longer release any future feature updates for Windows 10 as the operating system is scheduled for end-of-life on 14 October 2025 for the following editions of the operating system:

* Home
* Pro
* Pro Education
* Pro for Workstations
* Education
* Enterprise
* Enterprise multi-session

== Purge <s>all</s> non-Windows related content ==
Also, the entire thing reads like an advertisement for your wiki to me. Also, BetaWiki's tagline is "An open encyclopedia of software history", and Linux classifies under software, so why should it be deleted? This is not necessary for BetaWiki and would not affect it in any positive way. == Regarding the recent announcement of version 22H2 being the last release of Windows 10... ==

Just today, I read that Microsoft will no longer release any future feature updates for Windows 10 as the operating system is scheduled for end-of-life on 14 October 2025 for the following editions of the operating system:

* Home
* Pro
* Pro Education
* Pro for Workstations
* Education
* Enterprise
* Enterprise multi-session

:I do understand this. Since the earlier feature updates didn't have any new features, instead more being some sort of maintenance. == Adding some section icons ==

I'm planning to make some Watercolor-styled section icons for more user-friendly experience, but currently I don't have time. Anyways, what's your opinion about this? Here's some concept:
* New features and changes: Light bulb
* Bugs and quirks: Exclamation mark
* Patches (reparing file, etc.): Wrench
* Trivia: Question mark
* Versions, documents and information (requirements, etc.): Information mark
* Build lists:
** Windows 1.0 - 3.0: List icon
** Post-Windows 3.0: Windows logo
*** Windows 3.1 to 98, 2000, ME: Windows 9x logo
*** Windows XP - 7: Windows 7 logo
*** Windows 8 - 10 (+its semesters): Windows 8 logo
*** Windows 11 (+its semesters): Windows 11 logo
** MacOS: Apple logo
** OS/2 and MS-DOS: Old computer icon
You should maybe stop editing Linux pages and either focus on Windows or edit the pages on another wiki. There's currently an [[BetaWiki:Community portal#Purge all non-Windows related content|active proposal]] which will decide the future of Linux content on the wiki and if the pages do get removed, you should've moved on at that point. '''Ubuntu''' is a distribution of [[Linux]] that was started in 2004 by Canonical Ltd. Unlike many other Linux distributions, Ubuntu is designed for use as a desktop OS and currently owns the third largest market share on operating systems.

The Ubuntu system is built on the [[Debian]] infrastructure.

== Versioning ==
Ubuntu uses a date-based version scheme, where the major version is the year of release and the minor version is the month padded by a zero if necessary, e.g. Ubuntu 10.04 is the April 2010 release. Each version also has a codename consisting of an adjective and animal name both starting with the same letter, which since [[Ubuntu 5.10]] follows alphabetical order.

Two Ubuntu versions are released each year, one in each half of the year (usually in April and October). The first release in even years is an LTS release supported for 5 years, which can then be extended for additional 10 years via the paid Extended Security Maintenance program. Other releases are referred to as Interim releases, and are only supported for 9 months, after which it is recommended to upgrade to a newer version.

== Flavors ==
The standard Ubuntu desktop uses [[GNOME]]; however, there are alternative variants called flavors, which are optimized for different desktop environments or use cases. Unlike regular derivatives, Ubuntu flavors are officially recognized by Canonical, make use of some of its infrastructure and commonly only use Ubuntu stock repositories.<ref>[https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuFlavors UbuntuFlavors], ''Ubuntu Wiki''. </ref>
* Fixed an issue that was causing a
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
[[bugcheck]].
* Fixed an issue that was causing Group Policy Editor to unexpectedly show "An error has occurred in the script on this page" with an invalid character error when editing a group policy.

==== Shell ====
* Fixed an
explorer.exe
crash that was causing the taskbar to not load.
* Fixed an issue where the search box on the taskbar would randomly disappear sometimes when clicking it, leaving a blank space.
* Fixed an issue where the search box on the taskbar was shifting to the side slightly when clicking it.
* Fixed the issue that was causing some users which the new Spotlight UI enabled to not get a consistent refresh of images on a daily basis.
* Fixed a issue that was forcing users to make Task Manager to be as wide before the navigation pane appears.
* Fixed a issue that was causing the search box to overlap with the title bar text if text scaling has been increased.
* Some tweaks have been made to address cases where text in dialogs was getting cut off when text scaling was increased.
* Fixed an issue where certain parts of the title bar couldn't be used to drag the window.

== Bugs and quirks ==
=== General ===
* Using Windows Hello to sign in with facial recognition may not work on certain ARM64 devices.
* The system may take longer than expected to upgrade to this build in certain cases.
* Users may encounter the Administrative Templates error
Resource '$(LetAppsAccessHumanPresence_Name)' referenced in attribute displayName could not be found.
when opening Group Policy Editor.

=== Shell ===
* The taskbar may sometimes be cropped in half when using the tablet-optimized taskbar.
* The App icons on the taskbar may appear on the wrong monitor when using multiple monitors.
* On some locales, the default font used in several UI elements (such as the date and time on the taskbar) may change to regular Segoe UI instead of Segoe UI Variable.
* The following issues will only apply if the new Spotlight UI is enabled:
** Clicking on a secondary monitor may not dismiss the full screen experience.
** Spotlight wallpaper may not show the correct resolution on multiple / mixed resolution monitors.

=== Settings ===
* The Windows Update > Update history page may be blank after installing this build.
* Switching the Search entry point on the taskbar from the search box to the search icon via Personalization > Taskbar may fail in certain cases.

=== Widgets ===
* Third-party widgets may occasionally disappear from the Widgets board. They can be re-added by clicking refresh or by re-pinning them from the widgets picker.
* Third-party widgets may occasionally get unpinned when the Microsoft account is used to sign-in multiple Windows 11 devices.
* The undo button on the widget pinned/unpinned toast notification may not work sometimes.
* The link for "Find more widgets" in the widgets picker may be broken.

=== Safe mode ===
* Quick Settings and date/time clock on the taskbar may be missing due to the
Capability Access Manager Service
service not running.
* Clicking Bluetooth & devices and Personalization pages may crash the Settings app due to an overrun of a stack-based buffer
0xc0000409
.

=== Preinstallation environment ===
* This build's preinstallation environment has a broken Desktop Window Manager and therefore has graphical glitches in the setup.
'''Red Star OS''' is a North Korean [[Linux]] distribution. It is meant to act as a replacement to [[Microsoft Windows]]. Versions 1 and 2 are based on [[Red Hat Linux]], while version 3 is based on [[Fedora 11]]. Early versions resembled Windows XP, and version 3 resembled Mac OS X. It was redesigned because of a 2013 photo of Kim Jong-un with an iMac at his desk, and he seemed to have liked the UI.
The '''Windows 1.0 BYTE demo''' is an early demonstration of [[Microsoft Windows]] that was shown in the December 1983 issue of BYTE Magazine.<ref>http://toastytech.com/guis/win1983.html</ref><ref>https://guidebookgallery.org/articles/microsoftwindows</ref> The demo itself was produced in September 1983 and was likely shown to members of the press shortly after its compilation. A photograph of a floppy disk containing the demonstration was posted to Twitter by ReflectiaX on 9 March 2022, although he later revealed that the original disk had been demagnetized to the point where data recovery is not possible. Other copies of the disk are supposed to be in circulation.<ref>http://web.archive.org/web/20220309175815/https://twitter.com/beta_collector/status/1501618247564767238</ref><ref>http://web.archive.org/web/20220310211440/https://twitter.com/beta_collector/status/1502030146143928327</ref> As of 2022, it is the earliest known build of [[Microsoft Windows]].

The interface is very similar to Microsoft's DOS applications such as Word and Multiplan which were also released or in development at the time, with a command bar at the bottom of the screen, and featured overlapping windows that were later replaced by tiling windows. It remains unclear whether the build and applications demonstrated were actually fully functional or just cleverly crafted to create an illusion of a working system.
'''Windows XP Professional x64 Edition build 3790.1069''' is the earliest available build of [[Windows XP Professional x64 Edition]]. This build is based on [[Windows Server 2003 build 3790.1069|the Server 2003 version]] and thus has the [[Windows Classic]] theme with no background ([[Luna]] theme is absent in this build). Due to its earliness, this build still identifies itself as its [[Windows XP 64-Bit Edition|Itanium-based counterpart]].

This build was compiled in evaluation mode and can be installed on the current date.

== Bugs ==
=== Applications ===
The 32-bit versions of both [[Internet Explorer]] and [[Windows Media Player]] do not work.
=== Installation ===
This build must be installed on an AMD processor as attempting to install it on an 64-bit Intel processor will result in a [[bugcheck]]. [[QEMU]], [[VMware]], and [[VirtualBox]] are known to install this build, although it is recommended to use an AMD CPU on the host for the latter two to prevent the aforementioned bugcheck.

=== SysFader ===
The SysFader effects in this build can cause Explorer and other applications to hang when displaying menus. A workaround is to either disable the fade effects or use the scroll animation in place of the fade.
Yes i tested those. And i test the GPU drivers on my laptop. After i installed them. It goes to black screen and rendered useless. The only way to fix this was to uninstall the driver.

The NVME drivers bug is tested on a VM. And The VM hangs and simply shows a bugcheck {{Unsigned|WayneNathaniel2600}}
I noticed that most of your uploads are low-quality and didn't meet the [[BW:SCREEN|screenshot guidelines]] (like including custom graphics, using the .jpg format, and even showing your personal face), which is unacceptable. I noticed that you recently created [[Windows 11 Satya Nadella Full Keynote Microsoft Ignite 2022 build|this article]], however the article's content is not notable, so it has been proposed for deletion. :I agree with you, since it's ridiculous to make a article about a concept of Windows 12. : I already know about it. TRT2011 seems to always do this because of their age (the 2011 part of their username suggests that they might be born in 2011). Another fact about TRT2011 is that they were not good at speaking English (as I said above), which caused articles made by TRT2011 to be poorly written. == Image reuploads ==

Hi, please refrain from uploading new versions of images unless there is actually something specific wrong with the existing ones, in which case you should point that out in your upload summaries. Thanks. --{{User:Ryuzaki/Signature}} 00:00, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
== Stop reuploading images (unless there's a problem) ==

This will be my last warning for you, but '''please stop reuploading images!''' If there's nothing wrong with the image, you don't need to reupload the images. I also see that some of your reuploads contain custom images. Remember, PNG is the recommended raster image format on BetaWiki, but SVG is recommended for logos. I hope you understand now --[[User:User3412|User3412]] ([[User talk:User3412|talk]]) 16:40, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
:Well, TRT2011 left a message on my user talk page and I told them to stop reuploading images. After that, they stopped editing altogether! I guess TRT2011 finally realized that the actions they've done are against the guidelines, so they stopped editing to prevent future problems. == Comment signing ==
Hi, we have told you many times to sign your posts, however you have neglected it and have continued to not sign your posts. It is very tedious to add
<nowiki>{{Unsigned|TheRealToriel2011}}</nowiki>
to all of your comments. It is very easy to sign your posts, and I'll show you how.

Simply add the following to the end of your message:

<nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki>
