New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Input[edit | edit source]

  • The cloud suggestion and integrated search suggestion in Simplified Chinese IME have been improved to show the most relevant word and additional suggestions from Bing respectively in the candidate window. These changes are only available to a subset of users, but can be toggled on manually by enabling the 36862855 velocity ID.
  • The new Tamil Anjal keyboard for the Tamil language, initially introduced in build 25179, has been rolled out to all users.

Shell[edit | edit source]

  • The ability to show a dot-style notification badge on the Start menu's user profile icon has been added. A new item specified to what certain actions need to be taken will be added to the user profile button's context menu. This feature is disabled by default, but can be toggled on manually by enabling the 36435151 velocity ID.
  • The ability to show the Search entry point next to the Widgets entry point has been added. Two variants of Search entry point exist and are accessible via the dropdown menu under Personalization > Taskbar in the Settings app. These changes are disabled by default, but can be toggled on manually by enabling the 40887771 velocity ID, or the SearchBoxOnTaskbar feature name.

Settings[edit | edit source]

The new touch keyboard dropdown menu under Settings > Time & language > Typing, initially introduced in build 25188, has been disabled by default. This feature can still be toggled on manually by enabling the 37007953 velocity ID.

Shell[edit | edit source]

  • Various UI elements in apps may disappear and reappear repeatedly.
  • If the system tray updates is enabled, dragging system tray icons may cause explorer.exe to crash.
